Entertaiment

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is a broad category of activity that ranges from individual choice to an enormous array of pre-recorded products; to a banquet adapted for two or more; to performances intended for thousands and for a global audience. Although entertainment may arouse amusement, many forms have a serious purpose; as in the case of ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, and satire for example. The word entertainment derives from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which is itself derived from the Indo-European root ten, meaning “stretch.” This article is taken from TEN (Transformational Entertainment News) Fall 2011.
