Entertaiment is a complex concept. Its definition and meaning is continuously changing, a consequence of its dynamic nature. The same can be said about the experiences that fall under its umbrella. It can be anything from a private entertainment choice, adapted to the needs of an individual; to a group activity like a banquet, party, religious festival or a ceremony; up to a performance suited to thousands of people.

The term is usually associated with amusement, although entertainment may have a serious purpose as in the case of ceremony, celebration or satire. Entertainment of any kind is fine as long as it does not hurt anyone or goes below human dignity.
