Daily News is an American morning tabloid newspaper published in New York City. It was the first daily newspaper printed in tabloid format and once had the largest circulation of any newspaper in the world. It has a long history of sensational crime and corruption coverage, lurid photographs, and cartoons. It was also an early adopter of the Associated Press wirephoto service in the 1930s. Its art deco headquarters at 220 East 42nd Street (now 450 West 33rd Street, or Manhattan West) was a city and national landmark, designed by John Mead Howells and Raymond Hood. It was used as the model for the Daily Planet building in the first two Superman films.
The Yale Daily News is the nation’s oldest college daily and serves the Yale and New Haven communities. The paper is editorially independent and financially self-supporting. It has been printed every weekday since 1878. In addition to the daily news edition, the News publishes special issues such as the Game Day Issue and the Commencement Issue each year.
