Entertaiment is an important part of our daily lives. It can be seen in many different forms, from music to film and sports to theater. It also contributes to societal needs in many ways, like for example cancer research. Many groups, individuals and foundations are contributing to this goal. One example is the SU2C (Survive and Cure) initiative to get world-class scientists together to accelerate the pace of breakthroughs in cancer research.
The word Entertainment comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which means “to hold inside.” From there it is derived from the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch or expand.
